As A 7 year old, my head was filled with endless curiosity, untapped ambition and fierce wonder, when my ophthalmogist told my parents that reading and writing would be challenging . . . that sport would be off my radar and to be prepared for me to never be able to drive a car.

 

I was being Blind Sided by my doctor and had I listened, I would have become another statistic.  Yet another woman with a disability who allowed it to limit and define her.

But I didn’t.

 

Instead, a fire inside of me ignited and I was determined to prove him and others wrong!
